We recently tested and reviewed the Moza Mini-MI smartphone gimbal and have to say... it's really pretty darn good! We were actually pleasantly surprised by this because we had seen reviews on YouTube that weren't great. But our experience was bordering on excellent.
Watch the review below...
In regards to the bad reviews... We think this is a good example of how often times it's not the gear, but the person using it.
If you don't know what you're doing (even when you think you do) and it doesn't "work" - then just blame the gimbal or camera or mic or whatever - is what sometimes seems to happen... Another reason to watch more than one review and to find reviewers and YouTube channels you trust (and that have a track record). Or it could just be a subjective reason and that's totally fine. But when you see gimbal footage that looks almost unusable, then we use it and it's buttery smooth... well, then you have to wonder.
Today most of the gimbals in this category are solid options. They're all in the $100 to $150 USD price range and so really you can't go wrong with any of them (mainly talking about this Moza or the Osmo Mobile 2 or Zhiyun Smooth 4 among a few others). It ends up being about the features you want and each of them offers a few different things.
For the Moza Mini-MI it's best selling points for us are:
1. Price - it's only $99
2. Wireless charging - currently the only smartphone gimbal to do this, although the Snoppa will too (but as of this writing it's not publicly available)
3. Weight payload - it holds 300g, which is really great
4. Inception mode - a 360 spinning mode that can add a really interesting effect to your footage (just don't overuse it)
You can buy the Moza Mini-MI here.

Btw, we'll be doing an Osmo Mobile 2 review and possibly the Snoppa ATOM, too - so look for those on our YouTube channel and/or here on the blog in the future.
Happy filmmaking!
