The Movie Star (a new short film)

Writer's picture: Blake CalhounBlake Calhoun

We made another short film for the FiLMiC Pro short film contest this year and wanted to share it here...

This one was shot 80% using an iPhone XS Max (and FiLMiC Pro) and 20% using a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K.

The contest allows 30% to be shot on any kind of camera, which is great because this is how many folks (including us) shoot in the real-world. We mix and match footage all the time in our work, so it's very cool that the FiLMiC guys allow this.

If you're interested to see the camera prep and setup we used then check out this video, too...

We'll be doing several behind-the-scenes videos on our YouTube channel so look for those in the near-ish future.

Did you enter the contest? If so hit us up on social media with links to your work.

Also, we'll post an update once the winners are announced. We actually won the narrative category last year in 2018, but it's a totally different year and there are over 1500 entries so have no idea how we'll do this year. :)

Happy filmmaking!

P.S. Want to make your own movie with FiLMiC Pro? Then check out our course, "The Complete Guide To FiLMiC Pro" and SAVE 10% using this link.
