iPhone Filmmaker Wins an Oscar

Back in 2015 Sean Baker was an unknown indie filmmaker who made a name for himself directing the movie "Tangerine" - and that movie just so happened to be shot on an iPhone.


Cut to March 2025 and now Sean Baker has more Oscars than Steven Spielberg.


So what are you waiting for? Get out there and make your movie.


In this podcast episode I talk more about that along with how even though indie films can do well today (winning multiple Academy Awards), it's still hard to make a living making them.
